Check a local events calendar on-line, ask your neighbours, attend local community events. Destination Abaco, Abaco Sun, Bahamas National Trust and Ministry of Tourism are rich resources.
Choosing a School
Ask locals and ex-pats for their opinions. Visit the schools and find out about their curriculums and extra-curricular activities.
Best Restaurants
It's easy to find out about these on-line and through social media. You'll soon build up a list of your faves! Coops (photo on the left), one of my favourite local restaurants near Treasure Cay, serves delicious Bahamian food overlooking magical views of Sandbank Creek with live music thanks to Coops' dulcet tones.
Places to Volunteer/Give Donations
Abaco Strong, Abaco Shelter and Every Child Counts are some of my favourite places to give. Local fundraisers are a great way to become a participant in your new community!
